As researchers, it is our responsibility to ensure that the AI that we develop is trustworthy and fair. The aim of BRAIN is to promote the development of responsible AI for the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and psychiatric disorders. It is imperative that the implementation of these models in healthcare settings are done in a way which doesn't put the patient at risk in any way, whether that's through discrimination, releasing private information, or providing inaccurate results. That's why we aim to create standards and recommendations for researchers while also providing useful resources to ensure that the AI they develop is responsible.
